Alternate Energy Inc. (the Company) warrants its photovoltaic modules, including DC connector cable assemblies against defects in material or workmanship under proper application and installation for the period of ten (10) years from the date of original purchase to the original end-user customer.

The Company also warrants its repair of the roof, for a period of ten (10) years from the date of original purchase, for any damage caused to the roof by the installation of solar panels and the subsequent works relating to the said photovoltaic installation, if a licensed roofer or contractor confirms that the company was at fault.

A purchaser’s receipt or other proof of date of original purchase acceptable to the Company is required before performance on the warranty shall be rendered.

This warranty only covers product failure due to defects in materials or workmanship which occurs in normal use. It does not cover glass breaking on the photovoltaic modules through misuse, abuse, lack of reasonable care, alteration or any other failure not resulting from defects in materials or workmanship. Damage to the product caused by separately purchased, non-Company provided parts or components are not covered by this warranty.

The Enphase EMU, router, powerline bridge (PLC) and all other internet connectivity devices are not covered in the Alternate Energy Inc. Photovoltaic System Ten (10) Year Installation Warranty. All EMUs prior to the “S-series” EMU come with a 2-year Enphase Manufacturer Warranty. All “S-series” and "IQ" EMU come with a 5-year Enphase Manufacturer Warranty. For any EMU replacements that do not qualify for manufacturer warranties for communication devices will be responsible by the customer for full replacement.

Exclusions to this warranty include service calls for resetting the system or cleaning of modules.

The Company authorizes no other warranty, written or verbal. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.

Warranty Exclusions:

This warranty does not apply to problems with the operation of, damage to, or failure of photovoltaic modules arising or resulting from conditions such as, but not limited to:

a.) The improper combination or attachment to the photovoltaic modules of other devices, equipment or parts, or by mounting methods thereof; b.) Defective or improper wiring, installation, or handling; c.) Installations not in conformance with the local building and electrical code; d.) Electrical surges, spikes or outages; e.) Exceptional incidents, natural disasters, and extreme weather conditions including but not limited to occurrences such as earthquake, flood, lightning, hurricane, typhoon, tornado, fire, explosion, government action, an act of war or terrorism, or other force majeure events; f.) Wear and tear that is of a cosmetic nature and has no effect on the performance of the photovoltaic modules; g.) Acid rain, smoke, other kinds of pollution causing corrosion, or severe environmental conditions; or, h.) Criminal conduct such as misuse, neglect, breakage, vandalism, or other criminal conduct.
